Currently, I am accepting students seeking to learn tabla, percussion, voice, and/or guitar with private sessions starting at $40.

As a teacher, I want to see my students flourish in their understanding, ability, and enjoyment of music. We always seek to establish a solid grounding in fundamentals of technique, mixing exercises with improvisation from the get-go, and follow the thread of the student’s desire to learn.

There is a hump to get over at the beginning of learning any instrument, from something as intrinsic as the voice to something requiring as much dexterity as the tabla. On the other side of that climb is the facility to really enjoy playing or singing, to get inside of music in a way that becomes so joyful and enlivening that the practice becomes its own momentum. I am here to be a companion on the way, and to share what I have learned to help accelerate my students’ pathway to that joy and freedom.
